| Van Islander, are you sure your Sapporo pics are Sapporo? Not Harbin, China?... Sapporo does not seem to have an Olympic ice festival but this year in Harbin the Snow and Ice festival has an Olympic theme |
Uh, the Olympic theme in Sapporo is from the Winter Olympics they hosted in 1972! It remains forever an Olympic city. Not Harbin pics.

Recommend three great restaurants! I'll write them down.

| it's a great place but it's really going downhill fast. It's becoming a retirement community - I go into the grocery store and I'm usually the only person under 50. Urban sprawl is taking over, like everywhere else in the states, and the city is quickly loosing it's charm. Best to visit when it's warm too. |
Hmmm.. Albuquerque? I'm pretty set on goin' to New Mexico. What's your fav town in the state? I'd do the air balloon festival if it's warm then:

Thanks. I'm more of a small city/town boy: goin' into the big city once in a while, not like those suburbanites and their daily commuting.

| shimla i don't think is a city is it? I know its the state capital but its only the length from kyobo bookstore to chongno 3 ga. There are several layers of terraced streets though. So there is a bit of a sprawl. |
K, I'll take Shimla off of my top-10 list and include....
Havana for the jazz music festivals, dancing, food, rum drinks (Cuba Libre!) city architecture, people in the old part of the city, variety, history, Hemingway, beaches, just about everything. Everyone back in Canada I know who have been there have said it was soooo worth it! In my university days it seemed like I was the only one who hadn't gone.

soviet_man's Top 10 cities:
1. Esfahan (Iran)
2. Moscow (Russia)
3. Pyongyang (DPRK)
4. Kuwait City (Kuwait)
5. Murmansk (Russia)
6. Casablanca (Morocco)
7. Islamabad (Pakistan)
8. Van (Turkey)
9. Tunis (Tunisia)
10. Sochi (Russia) |
Curious, why those arab cities? I liked tunis but don't think it is that amazing. Casablanca was my least favorite large city in Morocco. And Kuwait city? seems random. I personally would suggest Sanaa Yemen, Damascus, and Rabat over those cities. Marakesh and Fes as well. Cairo is the ultimate city in the Middle East, but it is a place many people hate for valid reasons (too polluted, dirty, crowded, etc).
Anyhoo, i too would love to go to esfahan, Iran someday. |

| Most definitely, go to The Maldives. It's fabulous. Each tiny island has it's own resort complex and there really is no need to leave your little slice of paradise other than to venture out to sea. Enjoy!! |

Remember when Bunk got drunk and burned his clothes? Good ol' Bunk.
Also, I'll add Kamchatka Peninsula and Torres del Paine, Chile. |
