Banks/schools will be closed, right?
But will market-type places be open (Dongdaemun, Nagwon, Yongsan, etc.)?
Dept stores?
Anyone know? |

On Saturday March 3rd, which was a national holiday, just about everything that's normally open on Saturdays was still open- grocery stores, department stores, spas, restaurants, etcetera. The only place I saw closed was my workplace; I had that day off. Corporate employees (ie office workers) had the day off too.
And that was a national holiday! I'm guessing most everything will be open tomorrow too, but I can't say for sure. Is conjecture better than nothing? I hope so because that's all I have. |

EVERYTHING is open on the 9th. Why would you think it isn't.
Statutory holidays are RED. The 9th is not red. |

Thanks. Been here for two elections already, but neither time did I try to go to a big big market. I'm planning to head into Seoul tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure my trip wasn't wasted.
I know it's not a stat holiday, it's just that I'd heard Koreans get the day off to vote. Guess that only applies to gov't, public service, and big corps, then? Otherwise, if there's a buck to be made...
Thanks for the responses. |

| Yeah, I'd like to hear what people saying "everything will be open" think about banks. I need to go and tomorrow would be perfect. |
