Can someone explain something to me. A friend didn't get any pension, and the pension office said that was okay, because she was listed as a business. I thought if you have an E-2 visa, they are supposed to pay into your pension. What's the story here, and why doesn't the government do jack to investigate and make sure people get their pension correctly? Anyway, I would like some clarification as to what happened in her case... I have heard of this before. It happened to a friend. Can the only way she get that pension money is to go to court?
She doesn't have time for that and the foreigners remaining at that school don't have the pension thing, and they are probably listed in the same way.

It's part of the big lie that foreigners can be "independent contractors."
