I have looked everywhere and this seems to be the holy grail of Korea. Is this available at LotteMart? Does LotteMart have American-ish things like a Target (in the U.S.) would? I am getting tired of eating with a spoon.

Also where could I find a feather mattress comforter - the beds in Korea are worse than those posturepedic things they sell in America.

I live in a rural area in pretty much the middle of nowhere & they sell forks at each of the supermarkets here. Problem is they're all about the right size for smurfs. What exactly do they do with such tiny little forks?

Koreans usually use them for sliced fruit.

I have never had a problem finding metal forks in Korea. I bought most of my kitchen stuff at emart or the department store.

Posts like this usually make me wonder what the rest of this tiny peninsula is like. Thank goodness I have always lived in Seoul. I never have problems finding "random" stuff like that.

I got the answer to that one from my Co-teacher not long after I arrived in the country. The reason that most of the forks are small (child sized) is because the main time that forks are traditionally used in Korea is by children before their fine motor skills have developed enough for them to use chopsticks. That is why they often have children's designs on them.

Out here in them there sticks here, we chase our food into a pit before clubbing it to death. I spent five hours chasing my prey today until I realised it was another teacher. Momma, we gonna eat tonite!

You can get forks everywhere, it just involves using your eyes and feet. Yep, even out in the sticks they have forks.

I always thought those small smurf forks were for pinning down mosquitoes by the throat. Maybe I'm becoming an advanced user......

Laughing I appreciate the humor. I guess what I wonder more about is the people that can't find these things. I'll be damned; if I needed a fork I would find it without having to post here to do it.

I know that when I was first looking for forks. In the immediate town where I lived there literally were not any forks which were not designed for small children .. It was only in some of the shops in Seoul that I started to see a small number of what I called "normal" sized forks ...
So it does not suprise me that someone would post here asking where they could get them from ... If you live in a town which does not have a lot of foreigners in it not being able to find forks is not suprising ...

Okay so if I am near Yeoungdengpo and Youido Seoul, what is the easiest way to get there? Can you get there easily by subway or bus? I appreciate it. I have a HiMart near me but I think they only sell electronics.

Have you ever asked a question that isn't obvious to 99% of people who read the thread title?

I don't care what you think. If I met you in real life I wouldn't think anything of you.
