Hi all,

I got an offer to teach in Yeoung Ju City. No one I know that lives in Korea heard of it. I would be interested in knowing what it's like living there from people who are currently residing there or know about it.

Also, I am wondering:

1. If I discover that this gig is not a good one, how easy would it be to transfer my existing work permit to a different job (if possible)?

2. Pertaining to the teaching contract itself, if I am not pleased with the housing arrangement, how easy would it be to have the funds toward my original place allocated to a more desirable one?

Thanks

Could it be spelt Jeonju?

Or maybe Gyeongju?

If it is Jeonju, it's a pretty nice city.

It is usually spelled Yeongju, and is located in the very northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do on the border with Kangwon-do. It is directly north of Andong, and further away, Daegu.

Here is a link to the city webpage. Not much info.

As to your two questions 1) not easy, 2) depends on many factors. Remember, your boss has a "lease" on the place...so when is the lease up?
