It seems a major fan of Korean dramas has uploaded a whole ton of them, complete, from first to last episode, with English subtitles, to http://btjunkie.org/
Btjunkie is a public site so you won't need membership.
You'll need to search with the English name of the drama you want.
Now, I've never actually watched a Korean drama from start to finish. My Korean isn't good enough. Plus, they look terrible. But these dramas often become social phenomenenomnems, so, worth a look if you want to see what makes Koreans tick and have some watercooler talk for the teachers room.
I'm currently seeding these two dramas;
Ireland
My Name is Kim Sam Soon
So you could get those two easily.

delightful girl choon-hyang
There seem to be quite a few on there but you will have to get the correct English name to get the one you want. But it seems every major Korean drama of the last decade or so is there.
These are all big downloads. 8-16GB.
Can anyone else add some English names?
Search tip!
I've just realized that the uploader always adds the words 'complete' and 'batch' after the title of the drama. So just type those two words into the btjunkie search box and you'll get all the k-dramas!

I call korean dramas:
MAKE BELIEVE TIME.
after all, the people all seem to have great manners, great houses, nobody ever spits, nobody ever comes across an angry azuma putting piles of feces soaked toiliet paper into big trash bags. Nobody pushes as people line up, no drunk guys puke on the street, and for a while you would think you are in a normal place. viva the dramas! |

As to the actual quality of Korean dramas...........well, I'm definitely not saying that you should watch these dramas because they are great works of art. They aren't. At all. Not even a little bit..........but they do give the non-Korean an insight into modern Korean culture.
Not very accurate though. Korean dramas seem to show a version of Korean life that Koreans would like to imagine happens. Their own self-image manifested on TV. Todd Swift has a point there. But, hey, it's low production value TV afterall. Not to be taken seriously. I just find it interesting to see how Korean stereotypes and moral values are put to the fore in almost every drama. Almost every drama features a conflict between parents and children. Parents want one thing for them. Offspring want another. One would almost think there's an agenda.............conspiracy theory!! 
They're also provide decent Korean practice if you're a language learner. |

korean dramas are soo funny and not a bad way to learn some useful phrases. |

A good one that I saw on Arrirang two years ago: "Love or Nothing" but oddly enough, it is also called "My Name is Princess". It's the same show... don't ask....
Also: "My Sassy Girl" and "Stairway to Heaven" are good ones. |

So i downloaded "sorry I love you". It was about 10gb, took about 3 days. I was eager to open and watch it since Hubby has been watching it in Korean and getting tired of me asking what was happening.
The subtitles are in a notepad file. They are not in the show itself. Am I missing something here?? Am I supposed to read the notepad file and jump back and forth between the Korean and English? I'm using GOM player. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! |

Can anyone tell me why the Korean dramas have age limits on they before they start? I've watched dramas with 15 age limits and have never seen or heard anything that would justify the age limit/guide.

whats the extension of the subtitle file? SMI ? or SUB or somthing like that, right?
The easy way is to make sure the video and subtitle are in the same folder and that they both have the same name.
E.G Episode1.avi
Episode1.smi
Then the sub will play automatically with GOM. |

But none of this should surprise - they're essentially soap operas, right? Doubtful any of us would defend soaps from home as great works of art that reflect the reality of our times. Seems like it's exactly the same genre here. |

The episode is .avi, the extension of the subtitle file is .srt.
Maybe I just picked a bad one to download?
The quality of the avi is excellent, super crisp and clear, but the subtitle files when I read through them were kinda crap translations so if I can't get this working, I guess I'll try again.
I used the btjunkie site to get this one. |
