Now that my school is 'dieing' to hold onto me for another year........
It's pertinent to mention I've taken no sick days yet.
If I were to suddenly feel unwell, how many days would you take off in total (not necessarily all in a row) before the next contract starts on May 14th? |

Keep them in case you need them.
They're not holidays. If you cry wolf and say your sick, I think the school will make your life more difficult. Next time you may be genuinely ill, who's going to believe you?
Also, you may feel guilty. |

True. But when the new contract starts, the days I haven't used over the last year are gone. |

I know it's not smart to reply to fromtheuk's post, but I can't resist.
Sick days are for days that you are sick. Hence, the term "Sick Days". And I mean physically sick and not mentally sick. This is not some kind of holiday time that you are entitled to. Of course it's not rolled over to the next contract period. Do you also take the day off when it's your birthday?
As my dad would say, 'You've never worked a hard day's work in your life!'
Grow up.

In the meantime, here's some of my poetry:
Glasgow
by Dome Vans
Quote: |
Beautiful city of Glasgow, with your streets so neat and clean,
Your stately mansions, and beautiful Green!
Likewise your beautiful bridges across the river Clyde,
And on your bonnie banks I would like to reside.
Chorus
Then away to the West -- to the beautiful West!
To the fair city of Glasgow that I like the best,
Where the river Clyde rolls on to the sea,
And the lark and the blackbird whistle with glee.
'Tis beautiful to see ships passing to and fro,
Laden with goods for the high and the low,
So let the beautiful city of Glasgow flourish,
And may the inhabitants always find food their bodies to nourish. |

You should take the 15 calendar days 'sick leave' just before what ever holidays you have coming, and the two weeks 'home leave' you get for re-signing. This should give about a month and a half off. |

I can't because the lovely GEPIK people said I have to take it in July, after the next contract starts. They say the 2 weeks for renewal can't be during class time and must be delayed until summer vacation. |
