Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Any advice before going to Thailand? Should I bring anything? What is this hotel like? Is it like the pictures? Nice beach? |

I've stayed there a few times... Nice hotel. The beach is right across the road and is also nice. I liked it because it was a bit quieter than some of the other beaches like Patong. You have to pay the locals if you want to use the umbrellas/chairs that are set up on the beach, so maybe bring your own beach towel if you don't want to pay them. The water was nice and warm (and clean) and no sharp stones or shells in the sand to hurt your feet like at some beaches. There's also lots of restaurants and little shops and stuff around the hotel.
The hotel is really big... comprised of three different "wings" (buildings) and there's a bunch of different swimming pools. Depends on the time of year but sometimes the hotel is really busy and you have to go to the pool early to get a chair in a good spot. Oh, and they're really anal about their pool towels... I guess they had so many stolen that they're super strict about them now.
The grounds are really nice and the spa is amazing (but pretty expensive). Lots of different restaurants in the hotel - seafood, Thai, Indian, buffet, etc. - and the food is good, but again can be a bit expensive. Try the chilli margaritas - my friends and I were addicted. The rooms are really nice and they fold your towels into elephants and swans and other cute things.
Um, that's all I can think of... have a good time! |

Normally I would say, it's the Hilton, I am their biggest fan. They have gotta be good.. no wait, they have gotta be AMAZING.
BUT
This is Phuket we are talknig about - where boutique, cute, smaller hotels are abundant, and seriously, you want to stay in those, as they give you a personal touch.
Everywhere in Phuket folds towels into little elephants, btw.. |
