If my Principal presents a contract with amendments I don't like, if I refused to sign the contract and then made some extra demands to be included in the contract, would he eventually agree because time is so short?

Dude, just walk away. They don't like you and you don't like them. They are trying to hold you hostage because they can't replace you. It will only go downhill from here.

Do you need to get hit with a brick first?

Geesh.

Take a break.

Can I be the first to throw it? Seriously, give your 60 days notice and find a new school

I take your point Laughing

But to be honest I did previously wholeheartedly agree to renew.

If you agreed to renew then you shouldn't be bitching about problems that you keep getting yourself involved with. Grow a spine and stop taking everything up the a$$

Did you also agree to take it in the ass? If so, I know a few guys that would be happy to oblige as well. Seriously.... You agreed to resign, all things being equal. They aren't, so re-negotiate from your end. Leave. You have all the power now. Once you sign the contract, get over that barrel buddy because it's going to be a long 365 days.
