Anyone see the film Mississippi Burning?
In that film Gene Hackman's character threatens a Klanman with hanging to get him to confess. Most people who saw the film didn't hate Gene Hackman's character for doing so

I saw that film back in the 80s, so it was a good 20 years ago. Don't exactly recall the scene you're referring to. Were they actually choking him?
I might confess to all kinds of things to avoid being executed.
Anyway, I love Willem Dafoe. Even when he chooses questionable roles (Spiderman, Streets of Fire), he really gives it his all. |

No they were not actually choking him but they did have the rope around the Klanmans' neck.
Here is one scene

Ward and Anderson resolve their personal conflict and become singleminded in resolving the central enigma. Characteristically, Anderson's violence is exploited at this point in the film - a heavy is hired to extract information from the Mayor with threats of castration; a mock execution is staged to frighten one of the criminals into revealing the truth; Anderson goes after the Deputy with a razor blade and we, the audience are with him cheering him on but, thank God, the film does not end there. |

Did I hate him...no. Did I think he was wrong...yes. See, easy as that.
The thread title should really be the same as the poll question,,,but I guess that wouldn;t give you the answer yu want. |

I don't see why the questions must be the same. Nevertheless I would change the poll question if I could.
