Here, I like DAR, the Japanese stuff found in many family marts. The milk, dark and white chocolates are all good. |
Banana chocolate by DAR! Also in GS Marts. |

There is a huge difference between the Hershey's made in the US and the Hershey's made overseas. I agree, the Hershey's over here is crap.
I have NEVER liked Cadbury's. The most overrated food out there. Its like eating plastic with a little cocoa powder. |
Honestly, I don't know how it could be any worse than the crap I had the misfortune of eating in the US a couple of years back. |

| ^ I've tried Hershey's both in America and here, and honestly I don't know why Hershey's makes chocolate of that low a quality and why Americans put up with it. I mean American chocolate cookies are pretty good and continental chocolate is available there too, so people ought to know how chocolate is supposed to taste. |

Yeah, its true cadburys isn't up there with real chocolate but it tastes great I reckon. Plus in Ireland we also get Nestle and Galaxy chocolate which are good as well.
I agree, herscheys is crap. Same as a lot of american stuff you see on TV and look forward to trying with relish only to be crudely disappointed--Dr. Pepper,my god, awful stuff, tastes like the devils piss. |
You, sir, are a flavor philistine. Dr. Pepper is the finest soda on this planet.
What do you prefer, Tab? |

| Hershey's is milk chocolate. Therefore wimpier. <shrugs> I like it well enough. I like expensive dark chocolate too. Chocolate is always good. |

| Hershey's is a long way from being good chocolate, but after tasting the mass market crap that gets passed off as chocolate in Korea, I can't complain. The stuff they sell for white day is often cocoa flavored wax. |

People are comfortable with what they know. Darker chocolates are
something people have to discover. I remember when there were
only few brands of coffee in the store in the US. Now, people know
the names of different beans and what countries they come from.
The taste for chocolate has also been changing in the US. It used to be
you had to search for Hershey's Special Dark and now it's almost
always next to the regular Hershey's. Lindt now sells in Wal-Mart.
Instead of the same chocolate in different forms, e.g. Hershey's Kisses
and Hershey bars, we now have more kinds of chocolate in regular
stores and more specialty shops like Godiva. |

What you are most likely eating is fake chocolate. The Hershey's chocolate here is made in China. When I was given a bar from a student, I thought I was eating cardboard. In reality, you are most likely eating 'counterfeit' chocolate.
They make this crap & sell at premium for brand name prices.
Horrible stuff.

Hershey's chocolate isn't that great no matter where you are.
I don't understand the fascination. They've started producing finer chocolates back in the states, but Hershey still has a long way to go before they catch up to the quality of European producers.
I've seen toblerone in a few places, but I don't know if it's the same. My favorite is Neuhaus, but I seriously doubt ever finding that here |

I was brought up on Cadburys and Rowntrees, so, I find Hersheys awful too.
And there's a reason why Cadburys chocolate is 20% cocoa. Because early in the 20th century the Cadburys company found that proportion to be what people liked most in milk chocolate.
This new fad for ultra high cocoa percentages is stupid. Too much cocoa makes a terrible, bitter chocolate which people kid themselves must be the taste of real chocolate. |

You're missing the point. It's not about the difference between dark chocolate and milk chocolate. It's about high quality and low. Hershey's Special Dark still tastes a bit too much like cardboard. |

Bitter chocolate, i.e. chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa, is a European thing, although I personally like it. But Europeans do milk chocolate too.
The Cadbury's and Rowntrees chocolate you get in Britain aren't as good as European chocolate either, but at least they're a lot better than Hershey's. |

| I think Hershey's is the best chocolate now and that will ever be. I am right. You are wrong. My opinion on the tastiness of foods is superior to your's. |
