I have been here for almost 2 years now, and I am finally leaving at the end of this month. Unfortunately I never did much touristy stuff so now I am busting my ass trying to fit it all in. Make sure you guys don't wait until the last minute to experience everything, because it is so stressful trying to cram it into already-busy weekends!

This is good advice, up to a point.

I have lived in a number of cities back home, and realized too late the things I had left undone. But then I didn't know ahead of time when I would get another job.

So, yes, always pretend you are a tourist in the place where you live. You never know when you will move on. And never come back.

But I am having a little trouble getting jazzed up about being a tourist in Korea. There seems to be so much uniformity that one place looks pretty much like another.

There is a reason why you don't see many foreign tourists in Korea. At least not in the region where I live. All the foreigners I have met have been here as teachers or on other business.

Nothing much to see in korea besides a few mountains. Save your money and take a nice vacation in Thailand or PI.

I've been here for three years and I've seen pretty much all that seems to be woth seeing:

Pusan, Gyeongju, Kwangju, Boseong, Yeosu, Suwon fortress wall, all around Gangwondo including Chuncheon, Taebaeksan, Seoraksan and Seocho, the DMZ tour, Jejudo, Ganghwado, the palaces and temples of Seoul, Bukhansan, Jirisan, the independence museum, the national museum.

Only things left to do seem to be:
a temple stay, NK tour..

Can anyone recommend any other places as must-sees?

Plenty of great places to visit in Korea, I'd recommend Gyeonju. Check out the Silla tombs and visit the Bulguksa temple.

I have been here almost a full year and this next year I am taking your advice. Now that I have gotten a little more comfortable with myself here I can go out and have more fun than i had been doing.

and a trip to Dailian to escape might be fun as well
