| In English, the name of the language and the people is Laotian. An alternative name, in English, for both is Lao. I should've included that alternative in my post above. In the Laotian (or Lao) language, the name for both is L�o. |

| Well, I would say that Vietnam is part of the Francophonie, but you won't find your average Cambodian or Vietnamese speaking French. You are far more likely to find someone in Algiers, Tangiers, or Beirut or in a West African city who can speak a decent amount of French. French is not that widely spoken in Vietnam from what I hear.... I don't know about Laos. |
