| Probably the easiest way for a waeg to get on TV is to go to a news program and be willing to say "Yeah, I sleep with all my underage students. Boys as well as girls. Oh yeah, and I smoke lots and lots of pot which I force my many girlfriends to smuggle into the country." They will blur your face, don't worry. |

They just look silly.
I'd love to know what they actually get paid though. "Crap" is relative. |
It can range anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000 per day. |

lots of money in voice acting/recording. i know a several people with e-6 visas. the only purpose for the e-6 visa is for them to be able to stay in korea for extended periods of time without time consuming commitments (ie.120 hrs/month at a hagwon) they only film in low budget shows once a week and then stack up theirs schedules with voice acting/recording gigs.
the pay ranges form 80,000 to 120,000 an hour and most of the time you only work anywhere between 30-40 minutes and still get paid for the full hour.
the only problem is a lot of the voice actors closely guard their connections into the industry because....well...you don't need a degree, appearance doesn't matter, no previous experience is necessary, the work is easy and pays well. the trick is to get your foot in the door and apply for lowball voice acting/recording offers ie. 50 000 and hour. once you get your foot in the door, you can start making connections and move up the food chain.

That is true, many of my friends are voice actors. However, they do tend to be beautiful people. They all make a ton of money. |

I had my foot in the door back in '96, and it paid more than $5000 a month (for about 12-15 hours of work). However, my hagwon boss at the time slammed that door shut on my foot and whatever he said to the producer must have been pretty bad. Wasn't able to get another job with them or anyone else after that. That was the final straw and lead to my quick resignation (and his subsequent bankruptcy).
All he had to do was keep his mouth SHUT and we all would have been happy, but NOOOOO... What an assbag. |

No. I was under the assumption, because all such gigs got slammed shut on me, that I was blacklisted because of whatever the assbag told my producer. Never got around to trying again. It's been quite a few years since then, so I suppose I could try again, but I no longer have any contacts in the business to get my foot in the door again. |

| Go to a soccer game as an away fan. It's funny, I must be on TV every week being interviewed about why I am at said game. |

I was one of the trainers for a rugby team here years ago. During a televised tourney, they spent most of halftime zoomed in on my dome, discussing the "American" coach. |
