I heard mumbling, too, especially Laura. Annoying. And I have not liked Starbuck or many of the other human characters for a while. My favorite characters have always been Tigh and Leoben -- and they are both cylons -- and Baltar, who is probably not, but not with the humans, either.

Still the raiders did start acting on their own. |
I understood that the raiders identified the final five (or four at least), who had just gone active, on Galactica. When the raiders stopped fighting, they were following their original program and not acting on their own. Although the sixes and their allies understood this, the Cavils and their allies remained too focused on hating and killing humans to be open to considering the possibility that the final five would be with the humans. Therefore they altered the raiders' program so that they would stop making such distinctions and keep killing. And this explains the sixes and their allies', which, for the moment include the toasters, coup.
From the preview for next week's episode, it looks like the sixes' influence over the toasters will be short lived and the toasters will turn on them all and run operations -- just as they had earlier rebelled against their original human masters who had given them intelligence. Interesting turn of events. The action now is with the cylons and their civilization. The action in the human fleet is with the final five and what they do about it, and with Baltar, the messiah, now converted to believe in the One True God. |

The centurians might be pretty pissed off they're denied resurrection. |

Not a discontinuity. The Cylons had a year or so to construct others and "jump" them to or near enough to New Caprica to serve that massive fleet of basestars. Are we faulting the producers for not explicitly telling us this...?
I hope not. I like how they have always assumed that we, the audience, are intelligent enough to put things like this together on our own. |

thats what i'd like to believe. but somehow i cant help thinking its a gaffe. and its something that wouldnt need an explanation. just one character, maybe tyrol, growling menacingly "those toasters have re-built the resurrection ships. that mission was all for frackin nothin"
plus, after promising to leave the humans alone, they come back, and not one word of protest about breaking their promise, and the skinjobs didnt seem very conflicted about it either. |

They would have to know that if the cylons could build one resurrection ship they could build another or would have others. I would assume they understood it was a measure to delay the cylon advance. Get the heat off their back for a while. |

So basically the lying deceptive cylons are actually being lying deceptive cylons?
As for the ressurection ship: they have been shown as early as mid season 3. In a Measure of Salvation, the presence of a rez ship was crucial to the plot. In other dialogue, onscreen and edited it's hinted that the rez ship wasn't unique, simply rare. |

Is there not still a Cylon homeworld and production lines capable of constructing basestars, hybrids, and resurrection ships indefinitely? The Cylons we see are the ones out in "the fleet," but the Cylon stronghold as well as those who occupy the former colonies, remain, no? |

Other thoughts:
- I like that the cylons demand you're polite to them now.
- I do have a hard time believing Adama is going to send off his most experienced bridge crew with Starbuck. |

This weeks ep was pretty good. I agree that "regular" char HAD TO GO...was turning out to be VERY annoying.
Still wondering who's the 5th. |

Last couple eps I found the show to have periods where I had to mute it. First Starbuck shouting "we're going the wrong way" every scene. This one a crying baby. I was hoping the kid would get airlocked just to shut him up. |

What about the Cavils and their allies' wiping out the Sixes and their allies, including their thinking centurions and their basestars? It seems implied that they are all gone now and the Cavils will return to lobotomizing the raiders and keeping their centurions dumb so that they can wipe out the human fleet and the final five with them -- and then dominate the Cylon empire themselves.
Suppose one of the Sixes and a basestar did escape that destruction. Where will they go now? To the human fleet? Nowhere?
I like the new turmoil that writers and producers are showing us. But I dislike the soap-opera-like inch-by-inch movement of it. |
