Ive been having an insanely hard time with this. There are obviously just a lot of things that arent here. (Or around me anyway, and the city has 225,000 people.)
No mexican food, no real cheese, no pasta. Even the pizza places dont seem to be using actual tomato sauce.
Ive been eating a lot of fried potatoes, grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream. What about you? |

Well, doc, it took me a while, but I take to Korean more than I did before.
You should compile a list of Korean food and Asian fare that most Westerners don't mind. I have acquired more of a taste for Korean food, but I still prefer Greek, Indian, and Western style Chinese, or Thai. Korean food is growing on me.
Here is what I like:
Sushi, Shabu Shabu, Dak Galbee, Dak Pokee, Bolgogi, Samgaytang.
Get a huge toaster (G-Market), and you can make your own pizza if you want.... I suppose I could give it a try on my huge toaster oven.
How far are you from a Costco?
I do feel for you as Korean food for many of us is a major adjustment in terms of spiciness, saltiness etc... |

pasta, tomato sauce, cheese are sold in Seoul. Go to Lotte Department Store for pasta and sauce, or any supermart. Go to Namdaemoon to Costco for "real" cheese |

After several years the love might fade. |

I can eat anything. Makes it easy to travel.
But when I am home in Canada I miss nothing whatsoever about Korean cuisine. |

Just try a bunch of different stuff, and write down the names of whatever you like.
I try for dolsot bibimbap whenever I feel a need for more veggies.
I love orjinga dapbap.

same here, i mostly eat korean food, instead of my daily salads at home, and i have lost weight. i do miss salads, cheese and bread (good-tasting baguette), but my body seems to be responding well to the new diet. |

I loved Korean food from the start, and still do. I barely ever eat Western food while I'm here (not that I don't love it, it's just more expensive, so why should I when I love Korean food). |

My diet consists of chicken, beef, pork, or fish and a side of chicken, beef, pork, or fish. Vegetables are for girls. |

You should be real careful about that. I'm not saying a Western diet is much better (I guess I mean a fatty American diet), but eating only Korean food isn't a great idea. Korean food is lacking a lot of things that are quite important for nutrition.
Having said that, I live in Seoul where I can eat a great mix of basically anything I want. I keep my diet as varied as possible... best way to make sure you're getting everything you need. |

Such as what? And which Korean food are you talking about?
I find that a fair bit of Korean food has too much salt, but lacking stuff? I think this only applies if you restrict your diet to only a few dishes.
