I cooked for a friend today and she baught me a bottle of bokbunja as a gift, which I really enjoy drinking. IT came in an a special Jeju wine bag and case, so supposidly it should be a bit more special than those red bottles of bohae can buy in any convienence store. Anyway after she left I openned it up, it had a proper cork inside which was half soaked through with the bokbunja and looked like it could even have the beginings of mold on it but I couldn't quite tell. But I continued on for the taste test hoping all would be OK, however it tasted foul, a quick sniff and it smelt like some kind of cleaning fluid. Then I look on the bottle and on the back there is a date stamped on 2007.11.26, copnsidering what has been described above I'm presuming this is not the production date rather the drink by date.

So after the initial excitement of an expensive looking gift I come off thoroughly disappointed, even though I wasn't really expecting anything at all. Heres the dilema do I tell her its gone bad? I see 2 scenarios....
1. she bought it today it from the shop today, in which case she could exchange it.
2. or the other its been sitting around in her apartment for ages and she didn't know its gone bad.
Either way how offensive is to tell her its gone off?

objective opinions please

Agreed. She'll probably be really embarrassed if you say something.

Exactly. And perhaps feel she should make it up to you...in SOME way or another. Cool
