May is a good time to go to Japan --- especially before it gets too hot and gets swamped by tourists.

Taipei or Hong Kong. Airfare for both is fairly inexpensive. Taipei's got to be one of Asia's better-kept secrets, and there's a lot to do in Taiwan. Hong Kong needs no introduction (which is why I'm moving there). Plus, you can take the ferry over to Macau for a day trip.

Isn't in a Chinese holiday in early May? I heard it recommended to stay away from extra traffic congestion and travel hassles of early May.

Maybe those two Chinese places don't celebrate the holiday.

Hmmm...thanks guys. I have been to Japan in May before and it was great and I'm thinking of saving China until a friend of mine gets here this summer. I am now thinking the Philippines might be a good option for May. Any tips on travelling there or other similar destinations in May would be great!

given this new midsemester break in the public schools finding anything now may be impossible. hk is completly booked unless you want to pay a bunch of money or take odd hour flights. same with bangkok, japan and shanghai.

i should know i tired all those locations and the only thing i managed to get was hk at 700k/person. for comparison purposes i paid the same amount at peak season last july to go r/t to yangon

So I got a ticket on hold until the 21st through Asiana. It's going for 650 000won though...seems kinda steep. What should I be paying?

If I can't find anything better I will just pay it as I don't know when my next holiday will be.

Check out the Cathay Pacific site for a Super City Tour. You can a RT ticket, hotel, breakfast and transportation to and from the airport for as low as 600k if you go with someone else for 3 nights and 4 days.

The YMCA Salisbury is perfect for your hotel accomodation and is conveniently located in Kowloon, just a few minutes from the subway and 10-15 minutes away to the Macau ferry.

The Super City Tour is booked out. I tried that though I did manage to get a ticket to hk. I did manage to get a room at the Salisbury which has gotten great reviews.

2 weeks away I'm so looking forward to going. I LOVE HK!!!!!!!!
