Should I tell recruiters I am looking at a variety of schools through different recruiters? Will that make them more or less likely to try and give me better benefits? |

Both of you, there is a shortage of teachers. They may sometimes act like they don't need you, but they do. You are in control (unless you applied to some awesome job )... |

If there were a ton of teachers out there for every job it might not be a good idea, as they would see you as being less likely to provide them with cash.
However, as others have pointed out, there seems to be way more jobs than teachers. Recruiters will be trying to place everybody they can. Letting them know that you might be placed by somebody else might make them put in a little more effort for you.

Any recruiter with half a brain should realized that you're doing this already.
To me, this is a given. |

QFE
These guys only get paid IF they deliver anyway, why should you put all your eggs in one basket?
If the tell you any differently, tell them to suck on one of the eggs.
Of course.....you don't ever have to mention that you are working with other recruiters.
If asked, you could simply say something like, "I've considered it"......"but I'm more concerened with what we can do"......."so what jobs do you have for me?".........

A good recruiter won't mind at all that you are using other recruiters. I know. My recruiter told me he was so happy I found a job, even though it didn't come through him. Let me know if you want to be in touch with him. He is the most ethical and honest recruiter I have met here (and I have been in touch with many). He is concerned about YOU, not whether or how he gets paid. He provides apartment pictures, email addresses of current or foreign teachers, insists on schools providing national health insurance and pension ( a real necessity, especially if you go through a horror time like I did). |

My recruiter asked me to tell her if I was working with other recruiters because "she didn't want to waste her time" if I was looking in more than one place.
She also informed me that Koreans don't value tenacity, so working with many recruiters is frowned upon. |

Which recruiters are you all having the best luck with, or finding to be the most efficient and helpful? |

as far as recruiters are concerned, make sure you're the boss at all times. u don't owe them anything - they get money from placements. remember that they are used car salesmen; they're trying to push the products they have as quickly as they can. tell them EXACTLY what you're looking for, and tell them if the stuff they're offering u is inadequate. by all means, tell them u're looking elsewhere; it could help u have the upper hand! |

I got a recruiter that was lying to me...
I emailed him about it and this was before I had a job interview...
I never got a phone call, I probably pissed him off haha... |

The recruiter I spoke about is in Ulsan. Unfortunately, he only recruits for that area. But he is really above board. If anyone's interested, here's his contact information:
His name is Jake Kim. He is in Ulsan and recruits for that area, not Seoul. But he has some good jobs available now.
His phone is 010-8536-9317.
His email is [email protected]
His Web site is: http://www.teachkorea.info
Site is still under construction, but there is a lot of information there now.

This is probably one of the smartest recruiters in Korea. While scamming people will often make a quick buck, an good reputation from word of mouth is better for long term profits. |
