Does anyone else get these blank screens when they use the search function?
What must I do to get this page to work properly? |

Go to google.com
Type:
site:eslcafe.com followed by your search term.
For example,
site:eslcafe.com sandwich
Will return all the posts containing the word 'sandwich'. Similarly, you can use this feature on other sites:
site:youtube.com sandwich |

yeah, that's what it was. be nice to have this as a sticky, but i doubt the mods would want everyone to know how much their forum software sucks. |

Although it mightn't be their intention, having a crappy search function actually benefits the site as most of the posts are repetitive. There are about 100 topics that are repeated again and again. If those topics were easily findable then people wouldn't feel as inclined to start topics that have been bludgeoned to death.
The way it stands, I'm willing to fool myself so as to stave off boredom that this forum is perennially fresh. Alas, it's not, alas.
Darkcity, are you ever happy? |

I'm not sure if there's any basis for this whatsoever, but hitting the search button seems to get me far less blank screens than hitting enter after typing my topic. |

Thank you kindly for your help.
I wanted to research middle school stuff for a new job but didn't want to make people repeat old stuff, as you said is so prolific on this site |

It wouldn't take much for the SysOP to think about archiving some of the shite on here |

i think a lot of the times you get the blank screen when you search a word that would have too many results (ie. korea, english etc.) |
