I love this forum; I can't start my day until I've plowed through the new posts. Where else will you find such diversity of thought, pedagogy, and moralism? And where else can you find consecutive posts titled "Reccomend a documentary", "In the Butt", I love the C-word", "Do you serve Lucifer?", and " French meet-up"?

It kinda reminds me of the bar at Mos Isley(sp?) in Star Wars. You know the line Kenobee gives Luke and Han...something about " You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany."

So it makes me wonder, which character from the trilogy do you most resemble in your daily life? Why? Do you put on a persona when you go off to teach?

I will ponder this and repost.

Star Wars is for kids. Grow up.
Twisted Evil

I'm a lot like Jabba the Hut when I teach, except I don't eat pizzas, I eat kids that don't do their homework.

Is there an internet dork on Star Wars, because if there is, I'm him.

Sadly, I don't think my teaching character fits any SW character. If anything, it would be Leia--a little bit of exasperation mixed with a heavy dash of hopefulness.

Definitely Han Solo: edgy with panache. I also shot Greedo first.

Chewbacca. Hands down. I'm just an enormous, hairy, gorilla thing barking and howling unintelligibly to most of these kids. But with some teddy bear like qualities, so they aren't really scared of me.

I put on a persona, but it's not a Star Wars one, unless maybe it's the guy who had a disturbing lack of faith. I kind of rattle stuff off like him sometimes.

By the way, I find it ironic that you compare Dave's to Mos Isely. I think it was just a few weeks ago that I suggested "you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy" in the Dave's slogans thread.

I'd have to say Han for sure. A little cocky, irrational, and I usually owe someone money.

Why can't I be more like Yoda? Wise and Patient... and green.
