I am thinking of participating in some volunteer work with some of my High schoo kids in hopes of adding to their extracurricular portfolio for uni as well as to learn things outside the classroom.
Anyone have any ideas?
Ideal would be something during the summer or possible something during the week ends.
Looking to start this year and then to make it a yearly tradition for my HS classes. |

I think a lot of Korean middle school students have compulsory volunteering / community service, so your students might have some suggestions for places they went themselves.
A farm I volunteered on up on Ganghwa-do (near Incheon) ran programmes for schoolkids where they learned about organic farming and some traditional stuff (e.g. rice cake making) - WWOOF Korea may have similar projects. |

You could try to organize a riverside clean-up or something. Also, contact Ma Yong-Un at KFEM (the Korean Federation of Environmental Movements) about doing stuff with them. PM me if you want his email address. |
