Can anyone recommend a textbook for teaching an adult 1:1. She's slightly above basic level, but not quite intermediate level.
She wants some writing and grammar, but mostly conversation and confidence building. There are so many books tha I'm a bit swamped.
Any ideas would be great.
Cheers.

I find my own material for conversational classes. We agree on a topic and I find related words, in the middle of the conversation I sometimes naturally say an idiom or useful word in English they might not know. Sometimes I explain the word right then, or just email it to them later.

As far as books, I wish I could help. Looking for some good books myself.

How about Basic Grammar in Use: Reference and Practice for Students of English by Raymond Murphy?

I like a series called Ultra English. Have a look at it at Kyobo.

Thanks for the ideas.
If any other books jump out at me I'll let you know.

I've taught that book several times to 6th grade grammar classes, it's really useful for students of all ages. It's also a good freshener on English grammar for native English speakers who want to teach grammar.

I actually gave a new copy as a gift to my co-teacher at the public school where I work part-time, at the end of last year's school year, though I don't think she needs it.

I've also found the SLP books to be really good for conversation.
