| I read The Terror by Dan Simmons last weekend. I cannot recommend this book. It's historical fiction about the Franklin Northwest Passage Expedition of ca 1845. That part was OK, but Simmons had to add a monster. Pretty stupid. |

| Just started Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman, a short story collection by Haruki Murakami. Haven't read any short stories in a long time, and I forgot - when they are good, sometimes they are hard. |
Murakami rocks but I much prefer his novels over his short stories. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles is one of my favorite books.
As for what I'm presently reading, I am about to finish What is the What? by Dave Eggers. It is about one of the Lost Boys in Sudan who arrived in America a few years ago. Excellent story about one man's experience growing up as a refugee and eventually finding his way here. |
