yeah, 'hoop dreams' is one of the best movies ever too good call on that one even if you are not a basketball fan.

not in the same league, but 'mr. death' about the guy who invented the electric chair and became a holocaust denier is compelling, 'spellbound' about indian kids in spelling bees, and 'the devil and daniel johnston' about a mentally ill musician are all good watches for sure.

Oh yeah: One called "Dig!" about cocaine-addled rival indie-rock bands is possibly the single most entertaining documentary I have ever seen.

I recently watched:

Who the F*** is Jackson Pollack? about a trucker who supposedly finds a jackson pollack painting at a thrift store.

Spellbound-So cute, really liked this one...about nations spelling bee.

WAR DANCE- this movie is a roller coaster but PLEASE PLEASE watch it...definately engaging! Its about 3 kids from uganda who are competing in the national music competition.

Fall from grace- Documentary about probably the worst man in america Fred Phelps

For the Bible tells me so- About six christian families dealing with their sons/daughters coming out gay. Refreshing

PS I did see Crumb...amazing artist. Warped mind...the brother was so crazy

Ah, Crumb. Didn't know who the guy was before I saw the movie. Memorable bits (and forgive me if these are a bit off, it's been like 12 years since I saw the movie):

Crumb wacks off 5 times a day. Every day.

The female editor for some porno mag reveals that Crumb has the largest *beep* she's ever seen (on a man.)

Crumb's brother sleeps on nails and cleans his colon out by eating string.

Good stuff.

The History Channel has a documentary on the Korean War using color footage.

The Nova episode "Sputnik Declassified" is very interesting.
