Oh, I have had PBR before, and I agree that it IS better than the other beer that costs that little... like Milwaukee's Best *shudder* ... I've just graduated from college in December 2007 so the memories aren't quite faint enough of what MB tastes like. I will buy a six of Mackeson's XXX if Econo Foods carries it here - seems familiar but could be another triple X I'm thinking of. That La Fin Du Monde I'd REALLY like to try but I haven't a clue where to find it anywhere near me. Quebec is a nice friendly province and all but too far of a drive. Of Asian beers I've tried (only Sapporo, Asahi and Kirin Ichiban) the Kirin is absolutely my favorite. Can't wait to try some of the world class Korean brewing... |
You can usually find La fin in any cold beer and wine store in Canada. I got incredibly lucky here in Japan, the bar across the road from my house stocked it as one of their international beers. I don't know much about the beer situation in Korea but ask your local bartender who his supplier is. In Japan it's often a local who carries a much larger selection than any one particular bar may stock. |

i'm surprised by the pacifico comment. i like it because it reminds me so much of having fun in mexico, but i don't think it's that great of a beer...same with corona. dos equis is fine, negra modelo as well. but i feel like the love of mexican beer is more of an atmospheric feeling...the same way a lot of people here seem to love tiger or singha.
oh yeah...and i love mexican beer!
i remember being 18 and paying $10 to go to a club in tijuana that was all you can drink. the beer on tap? pacifico. used to hate having to tip the servers $1. those were the days! frat boys passing out and falling into the urinal trough! |

Tsing Tao is probably my favorite Asian beer. Back home I like Propeller Bitter (http://www.drinkpropeller.ca/) or any micro-brewed stout will do. My friend's Dad makes a great stout: thick and soupy.
I saw Lemon Cass last night for the first time. I didn't buy any. |

IMHO, Erdinger hefeweizen is the best beer. Followed closely by Franzikaner.
In Asian beers, I'll have to tip my glass to the Sapporo in the big silver cup.
Killian's Irish Red is a pretty good American beer. |
My favorite beers are Erdinger Dunkel (Hefe-weizen), Neckarmueller Hefe (local Baden-Wuerttemberg beer) and Spaten Oktoberfestbier. The latter is what I had at Oktoberfest in Muenchen in 06. The Belgians make a hell of a beer too but I was to into German beer during my year there to really explore their beer. |

Those would really go well with a German sausage. I had a great Curryverst in Pattaya. |

Having lived in Germany for a couple of years, I am a bit biased but my favorite beer is Kitzinger Hefeweizen made in the small town of Kitzingen, Germany. Absolutely brilliant beer.
If anyone makes a run to Fukuoka, Japan, check out Suginoya Amber Ale. This is a fabulous ale made just a short distance from Fukuoka. You won't be disappointed.
Agreed, the Belgians do make some outstanding beers, a few of which will erase your brain, such as Delirium Tremens, at a whopping 8.5 AVB (not their strongest: Delirium Noel 10 AVB; the world's strongest beer is Sam Adams Utopias MMII at 24 AVB). |

I am no beer connossiour. But. It's dirt cheap and pretty tasty...I have to represent my home state and proclaim Lone Star as my beer of choice.
Keep in mind, I drink Jack Daniels all night long and then switch to beer my 5th or 6th drink into the night. It slows me down, yet allows me to maintain my delightful state of mind. With that said, just about everything tastes like water at that point.
And I'm apparently too moronic to figure out how to put a picture of this swill in my post.

Have you ever had 'K' cider? It comes in great little 9oz. bottles.
I also should have mentioned Sam's Oktoberfest. That's a damn good beer. |

| I've gotta go with Gambrinus. Especially when served in the Prague beer gardens. You can't beat the price either. About one USD per pint. |

A nice recent discovery at a nearby Family Mart is Cobra Beer from India. It has racked up umpteen international awards & deservedly so, I'd say. Tasty.
My world fave is Phillips IPA from a small brewery in Victoria BC. Anyone else know it? |
