So mid-terms are coming up...there's no classes...so...why the hell do I need to show up?
Am I really expected to come to school everyday and sit here and do nothing? |

Don't you have to invigilate? |

Did you sign a piece of paper stating that you would work 40 hours a week 22 of them teaching hours and that you would be present in school from 8:30 am until 4:30pm?
If you did then this is called a CONTRACT it's an agreement between you and the school as. |

Because you signed a contract stating you would show up. Use the free time to plan upcoming classes or camps, study Korean, or sleep. |

I'm downloading movies, and I'll be watching those all week.....or finishing up some online courses I'm taking.... |

I get to go home early on those days, but I still have to show up and keep myself entertained. At least I'm not monitoring the tests like the K teachers. |

I'm quit content sitting at my desk with a thumb up my ass.... I can't even imagine how much cheating goes on during mid-terms. |

I know sleeping is socially acceptable, but what about if I was reading a book during mid-terms, or my free time? |

Our handler told us today that since we didn't have to proctor the exams we had an extra few days holiday. I took that to mean we didn't have to come in. Hope that is so! |

I have to invigilate during exams... which means I have to stay awake and the students sleep!
Wanna trade? |

It all depends on the school and your relationship with it. Quite frankly I think it would look pretty bad to *beep* off while all the other teachers have to come in. If you're teaching 500+ students you should be able to think of something productive lesson-planning-wise you can do during that time. |

I hear ya, but they get perks we don't, so I will take this one. BTW, I do most of my lesson planning at home, well the best lesson planning anyways. |
