Just wanted to brag on this...I just got a great deal on an HIS Radeon HD 3870 IceQ III. The card had been hovering around 200,000 or so for the past few weeks even though the US prices are down around $175. I checked danawa this morning and saw it listed for...92,000!!!!

Needless to say, I snatched one very quickly. I just hope they don't call me and say "sorry, that was a mistake, here's your money back."

I just checked the site again and it's already gone. The lowest listed price is now 193,000.

I guess they meant to type 192,000........have they delivered it yet? Somrthing tells me Yongsan dealers won't honor the deal at that price. They'll call and try to get out of it.

Yeah, I'm thinking that order will conveniently disappear. But you never know, maybe it was a returned item.

I got the text letter confirming the order, but I did miss a call from them while I was taking a shower. I tried to call back but no answer.

I did check Danawa again and the price is at 193,000 for the store I "bought" it from. My wife doesn't think they'll give it to me either, they'll just send the money back.

I don't know if I expect to get it either, but hell, it was worth a try!

Well, my wife talked to them today and the first thing she said was "I think you maid a typo and my husband got a good price." They said it was definitely a typo and wouldn't honor the price. They said if it had been a smaller amount, like 10 or 20,000 they would give it, but not 100,000.

Oh well. At least my wife is now going to allow me to buy it at full price instead of a cheaper card like the 3850.

It's 192,000 now. I'm thinking about one. Do you know if that card is HDMI and HDCP compliant?

Yup, I'm getting one. Unfortunately not for the good price of 92,000. I'll pay the full price, still a good deal now that it's under 200,000.

From their website: Model Name - HIS HD 3870 IceQ 3 Turbo (Full HD 1080p) HDMI Dual DL-DVI & TV (HDCP) 512MB (256bit) GDDR4 PCIe

Does the card use beta drivers? Are they good? And, why not consider the 8800GT, priced around the same but out-performs the the HD3870 in most benchmarks.

My HD3870 has been a great card for 5 months now. Bets drivers? ATI issue new drivers each month. Numbered for year and month. So this month's are 8.4. I don't have any driver problems except that some ATI users say better things are to come for the HD3800 series when the drivers become more mature.

The 8800GT is on average 15% faster than the HD3870, but hard to find a good one for under 250,000.

I'd say you got a good deal Kprrok. My Sapphire HD3870 was 260,000 5 months ago.

Just a pity it wasn't 92,000!!!!

It was the 512 GDDR4 model. Dual-slot. But I made it a Turbo!!! Laughing

This Turbo is just factory overclocked?

It's crazy to pay extra for a factory overclocked GPU. They're so easy to overclock yourself.

I can confirm that the HD3870 plays 1080p files with no problem. And it will do HDMI output but only by using an adaptor. It doesn't have a dedicated HDMI output.

I've downloaded a ton of 1080p movies from BTjunkie recently. Amazing resolution.

Nvidia 9600GT beats or matches the 3870 in games. Not sure about video. Runs only about 160K and its Nvidia.
