...or Daegu area...
If anybody is interested in getting out and enjoys going to sporting events...Lions baseball games, Daegu FC matches, Orions basketball games...let's do it!
Virtually everyone I know, between co-workers, neighbors and friends foreign and Korean either dislike or are indifferent about sports, especially local. I say what the hey, it's what's available. Why not have an open mind?
Everywhere I've travelled, I've made a point to check out sport, and it's not only been fun, but a good way to meet enthusiastic and kind people. Went to a couple of baseball games over the weekend, and it was a blast. Really enjoyed the intimate setting of a small stadium. Met some interesting Koreans, who were more than delighted that foreigners were there showing spirit.
Let's get some peeps together and support the local teams... |

I thought I would like to check out the local sports too...
Went to yet another Lions baseball game this weekend.
The problem I have with sporting events here is the atmosphere...the crowd is dead silent, except for a section of forced/choreographed cheering.
Plus, watching the baseball game, or watching the awful Orions is like watching high school baseball or basketball. Even worse than minor leagues back home.
At least my high school had more spirit during the games.
So I usually just go for the relatively cheap beer and fresh air (for baseball games). I can understand why most people here aren't into the sports teams, they suck and the crowds and feeling suck.
Sorry man |

I am all about going and watching some baseball games. I went to two games last time I was here and had a blast.
I am planning on going to the Lions' games the first weekend of May (three day weekend). Should be a lot of fun. |

Speaking of baseball. I haven't had a chance to see any of the games this year. Does anyone know the ticket prices this year? They were pretty cheap last year. |

W6,000 first-come-first-served seating. pretty reasonable, i think.
there's a match between daegu fc and incheon united this coming sunday at 3pm. i've yet to go to one, but from the looks of it, the stadium should be pretty nice. anybody down? |
