Imagine my delight when my co-workers decided to include me at lunch time yesterday by ordering a vegetarian pizza. After the last fiasco when i hurt their feelings by declining to pick beef bits off the meat feast, i was pleasantly surprised they had thought of me. Here's how it went...
Co-worker: Here you are Happy One, (big smile) I ordered this vegetarian pizza especially for you.
Me: Thanks, but that's peperami.
Co-W: Yes. It's for you. I know you don't eat meat.
Me: Peperami is meat.
Co-W: No it's not.
Me: Yes it is.
Co-W: (sounding incredulous) Really?
Me: Yes.
Co-W: No it's not.
Me: Yes it is.
Co-W: Really?
Me: Yes.
Co-W: Are you sure?
Me: Yes.
You get the picture....
I can take my friends constant ripping that no one likes a vegetarian, and my doctors advice that i need more protein, but why oh why can't Korean people accept that chicken is meat, beef is meat, bacon is meat, and yes; peperami is meat!! Drives me crazy. |

I love these discussions.
My friend was told that ham was not a meat and that kimchi has no animal parts in it. Kimchi has shrimp powder, and as a strict veggiesauraus, she won't eat it. |

see this is why I told that guy whose friend had a peanut allergy not to come to Korea...
Me: "dammit, I told you, he's deathly allergic to peanuts!"
Korean person: "No, it's okay, I only put a few in..." |

Order your own disgusting veggie pizza then. It was a nice gesture for your co-w to order something for you. Perhaps he/she made a mistake. Stop complaining and being ungrateful. |
