1. Do proofreading for somebody and refuse payment.
2. Open a bar.
3. Have the proofread people get one of their artists to draw a beaver
4. Sell the bar and use the beaver as your avatar.

Not too complicated, really.

Use photoshop to superimpose an M.C Escher painting and the equal loudness curve. Write "Underwaterbob M.C. Escher vs Equal Loudness Curve" in fancy font on it, shrink and link.

Assuming the OP was asking a 'how do I get an avatar?' type question...

1. Find an image you like. I recommend http://images.google.com/
2. When you've found an image you like, right-click on the image to bring up a menu of options. You are looking for 'properties' or an alternative option that will show you the address of the image. Copy this address.
3. Log into eslcafe.com and then choose your 'profile' ( http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/profile.php?mode=editprofile )
4. At the bottom of this page you should see the heading 'Link to off-site Avatar:'. Paste the address you copied in step 3 into this field.

Press submit.

Voila!!

tfunk: I have been mesmerized by your avatar, and was hoping you'd explain it.

From about.com:

Each photo was taken on the same day each month. The final photo was taken on my due date and my daughter was born 2 weeks later. To keep the animation smooth I took the tummy and boobs from each photo and attached it to the body in the first photo.

Check out the belly gallery:

Do a google image search with your user name looking for a cool & descriptive avatar to match....

Wonder what connection a tree with big hair has to your user name....

Decide it makes no sense but you like it so what the hell....

Read about a Scottish dwarf that sticks a vacuum cleaner on his knob for the grand finale to his show.
Read further that during practice he managed to stick it to his knob and have to go to hospital where he felt embarrassed.

Laugh a lot and put as avatar.

Off topic topic really .. however .. (and if I can play clever buggers and try to remember off-hand) ...

Go to a site such as this: http://www.avatarist.com/

Save your chosen avatar to your Comp.

Go to a 'hosting' website such as this: http://www.imageshack.us/ and upload your saved avatar into it. It will provide you with a URL.

Pop the given URL into your profile - where you can add a pic/avatar ... and you should be set.
