Can anyone tell me where the office is that will issue my CBC and have it appostiled? I've read a previous poster's advice on PMing him...however, I can not PM yet. Thanks a lot everyone. |

You can get a local CBC, get it notarized, there send it to Austion with a money order for 16 dollars. They will send it back in about a week. Sec of State Department of notary. Also remember you need to send a SASE. GL |

Go to a police station. Just call ahead first, because not all stations will do it. I went to the HPD station downtown, on Travis, and I had my CRC in my hands within 10 or 15 min.
Then, go to the secretary of state's office, fill out the apostille form, and mail that to the address on the form with your payment and a return airbill or envelope. |

Before I came to Korea, I was living in Corpus Christi. I went into the local Records Office of the Police Department and got a local background check. It cost me a total of $2 and took about 5 minutes tops.
Then I took it to my bank and got a free notarization. After that, go the the Secretary of State webpage, and search of apostilles. There is a form to fill out. Fill it out, add the $15, and remember a self addressed return envelope to get it back. You can do overnight/express mail if you need it fast. It cost about $30 for it to get there plus the return charges. Just make sure you use the correct address, there is a different one for express mail.
I did this in December (right after the new regulations were passed) and it worked. It should still be valid now. |
