For those who bought car insurance...
What documents did you have to show to prove your safe driving record from your home country in order to get an insurance discount?
Did the insurance company want a notarized safe driving abstract or anything? |

I just showed proof of prior auto insurance (Canadian pink slips for a couple years at the same insurer) and they were happy.

I got a letter from my previous insurance company in the UK, stating 7 years no claims. If written in plain English it should be OK.
My was queried here because there was no start date on it. It just had the date my insurance stopped, with 7 years no-claims. The insurance firm would have liked to see a start and finish date, but the 7 years was actually with 3 different UK companies.
The discount wasn't as big as that of back home, and I was told that many insurance premiums are greater this year. Insurance fluctuates from year to year, I believe the sector has good years and bad years. |

I think ALL auto insurance in Korea is discounted...I didn't give them anything about my history, and I can't imagine it could be cheaper. |
