99% of the hits from this website are from people looking for a car for next- to-nothing (somewhere in the "less than a million" range). I've had at least three people call and say they want to come look at the car and in the same sentence tell me they don't even have a driver's license! Confused

I'm probably just wasting my time here, in fact. In any case, maybe someone here is looking for a good car, so it would be foolish not to post.

I'm buying a brand new Matiz this summer. Total price after credit rebates is a mere 6.2M won. Not bad for a brand new car. 3.5M for a SEVEN year old car is far too much.

You might think so, but that's the market value of these cars. That's why you buy a Matiz. They don't depreciate!

Frankly, I'm confounded by the amount of attention this thread has received! You're right, though. Encar is the place to be.

If you know of a person or place that sells "great" cars for 2mil., why not share with us?

I own two cars, and I've searched every website and been to many used car dealerships, and I've never found even a decent car for less than say, 4 mil. Certainly not one with low mileage and no accidents.

I guess that depends on what you consider to be a great car. We paid 700,000 for our car and it's been very reliable and is super comfortable. It hasn't been in an accident, although I'll be honest and say that it doesn't have low mileage. But in Korea low mileage isn't really that much of an issue because getting cars worked on is so ridiculously cheap. Mechanics charge literally 1/3 or less for labor as what you'd pay back home, so even the most serious of problems generally doesn't run you more than 350,000. The last time we lived in Korea we paid 350,000 for our car that we drove all over the country and put less than 200,000 into it over 2 years.

It's just my personal opinion that there is no reason to pay more than 2 million for a car in this country, simply because of the fact of how cheap they are to work on. I'm not saying that 3.5 million isn't the going rate for your car, just that this is definitely not the market to be advertising in.

I have to second that opinion. When time comes for us to sell our 2 cars....one will be posted here. It is cheap, what English teachers look for, with low mileage, and is cheap to get fixed up.

Our main car.....heck no. It is a large luxury sedan, it is a gas guzzler. However....it is a pleasure to get in and drive, and long distance trips are so nice. Up keep is more expensive than even more modern cars of its class.
So when it comes time to sell it...I aint coming here. This is just not the place. I will go to encar, or go to a dealer if I need a quick sale....period.

Your matiz falls into the same group. It is not your 500k clunker that alot ESL teachers buy. When I saw this ad at first I thought...nice car. I would buy it for my wife, except she doesnt like compact cars.

Great car wrong place!

I'm a Matiz owner too. Had to get a small car because of parking nightmares at the villa we stayed in last year. Parking an old Korando there was next to impossible. It developed a fault, and many people said we'd never sell it, but on a Korean site we had people begging to buy it.

Well, I'm glad to say the saga of The Little Car that Could has finally come to a close. Approximately 5 minutes after I placed an ad on encar, I had as many phone calls from dealers. It took less than 24 hours to sell the car for a cool 3.2 mil. Couldn't have anything to do with the W2,000 per liter gas, what? I suppose it's a bittersweet conclusion after all!
