Ever notice?

Or sometimes I think it's forced. Especially with high school boys. I think they're overcompensating something.

But even young girls when speaking to each other have really deep voices. The high, baby tone is forced, I think (of course). Makes me want to hurl:

"Anyeong haTHeyo." Blwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadeewor.

It's hard to tell in comparison when they're speaking Korean or heavily accented English, but I have noticed that a lot of male gyopos have fairly deep voices, even one gyopo adoptee I know.

I don't know if I'd say they have "high" voices normally, but I've noticed their "Korean" voice is almost always much deeper than their English voice.

I was just going to start a thread about deep voiced women here.

One of the new younger Korean teachers has a proper deep voice. Very annoying. Almost like she is a man.

A few of the other females have very deep voices.

Uh, I'd rather listen to a mannish Korean woman than a babyish Korean women ANY day.

I feel like my female students have fairly normal tones--some low, some high, most medium. The boys...they do kind of have low voices, but I forget if they had the same back in American middle schools. Probably?

I think Korean is just spoken somewhat gutturally. No...no...wait...it's probably and entire country full of people trying to seem more manly by constantly speaking in a lower tone. Yeah, that's it.
