I can't figure it out and the Korean teachers don't seem to have a very clear idea either. The text books seem to be designed for Korean teachers. What do the rest of you do? |

Yesterday I slept in the EZ for the afternoon and walked around the school in the morning.
Today I will sit here and play card games.
Mon-wed mid terms next week so nothing there either.
Thur is meant to be a normal day so I will probably sleep in the EZ in the morning and maybe sit at my desk in the afternoon.
Friday no kids in so probably a long lunch
Week after is field trips and such like so again nothing.
----
After that I will spend some time planning lessons with my co-teachers where we deliver a well balanced lesson that targets all level of the kids abilities.
You need to do a Google on co-teaching and lesson plans. Work out how to use your NT as efficiently as possible. Modeling dialogues and keeping the class in check.
Korean middle school book is terrible, but it's actually usable once you get over the fact that it is terrible. The ideas are there you just have to pull them out and remodel them so that you are happy with them.
I will take some time. Sit down and chat with your co-teacher. Get on the internet and start reading up on lessons and lesson plans.
Buy Learning Teaching as well to get a head start. |

I've been asked to design lesson plans for 4 levels at my middle schoo -- beginners, low, intermediate, and "advanced." I put quote marks around the word, advanced, because advanced at this school is still very low conversationally. Other than a Canadian woman who did a runner after 5 months on the job, I'm the 1st NT they've ever had. Still, the more advanced classes do know a bit of grammer and seem to like participating in my classes.
Other than that, they pretty much give me free rein to come up with whatever I want. They've never asked me to coordinate it with the texts that the Korean English teachers use (which the KTs say is a very poor text). |

Ho hum...This was a three day week. Next week is too. Come to think of it, the week after is also. The last 2 weeks in May and the first week of June suck though cause I have to work 4 days instead of 3.
48 more school days until summer holidays! |
