I did a search to find some travel agents for my friend in Korea and this thread popped up. Bizarre.
Anyway, I've never heard of something like this happening; OP, how much do you weigh? How can some old guy just "take" you to a copshop? Were you swooning by any chance? |

I think the guy was just trying to help you out cos you were very drunk and he was worried about you. |
Agreed...
if this keeps happening to U jajdude, then it means its U, not them. Get off the booze is my advice. |

This is funny and sad. I was drunk, and cannot remember too much. For some reason a Korean guy 40 or 50 years old took me to a cop station. Then he tried to explain why to the cop. But there was no explanation! The cop looked at him, looked at me, drunk and forlorn, and we all laughed, except this ajosshi was a bit embarrassed, perhaps from his own xenophobia or something. Weird. So I went out and got a cab home. And this is probably the third time this has happened to me.
I have a friend who has been in Korea a long time! It happened to him back when foreigners were real scarce. This must be the residue of that old fear of foreigners that still persists. Honestly, I did nothing to bother this older dude, other than being a white drunk guy I guess. |
For all you know, he could have thought you were lost and decided to do you a nice turn. I wonder how many foreigners have misinterpreted such acts of kindness. One would think that if he had taken you to the police to be malicious, he would have a prepared story by the time you got there.
And what do you mean took you? He forcibly dragged you there or something? |
I thought about that too, but why was he embarrassed with no story? |

Not that I really care but is it some troll who keeps replying to 5 year old threads? Happens a lot lately.
One needs to develop a 6th sense to GO HOME after a certain point.(drinking, I mean,.) |

Yeah, I guess that's kind of how I'd also describe it.
staying out drinking your face off passed 3:00am puts people in that risky zone. things tend to happen, get weird or dangerous. |
