Hello everyone im a bit of a newb to everything,
i'm looking for my second job in Korea, my Hagwon contract expires late August but i want to go home take a TEFL course and get all my documents sorted.
I know where i want to work (Jeolla region), at a public elementary school,
i know everyone wants this
but i want a job with less hours (don't want to sign a 20hr teaching contract then be told to do 10 hrs overtime) and longer vacations than standard.
all the contracts appear the same and EPIK seams random about placing you somewhere, so short of going school to school
WHERE/ HOW CAN I GET MORE INFO ON THE CONDITIONS?
Cheers
Tommy
EDIT because bold didn't work. |

Tommy,
There are public schools and school districts that DON'T use EPIK, GEPIK, or SMOE if you are willing to work out in the rural areas. Really keep your eyes on the Korean Jobs page here at Dave's starting in about a month or so for September Jobs. There will be masses of recruiters offering PS positions, but look for the ones that offer more vacation in their ads. These aren't EPIK positions.
When you contact the recruiter or school, make sure that the contract is the same as what they are claiming in the advertisement! If they change their tune at all, don't deal with them.
It is getting more difficult to find these good jobs, because people are renewing, or vacant positions are being filled by word of mouth. |

thanks for the replies, realise my post looks lazy but im willing to do the research it's just difficult to find a starting place.
Thanks Gamecock will be checking the jobs boards more regularly
i'vew contacted a few recruiters but they don't seem to listen and send the same replies, 14 days hoilday etc.
Cruisemonkey i'd consider Hampyeong do you know of a recruiter or a government office i could contact to get some details on positions? just a name would do, i'll find them.
Cheers again
