serves the Korean guy right...
I didn't go outside my apartment today - because I live next to Olympic park and there were 1000's of Chinese in HUGE red Chinese flags at Olympic park...
It was cold and rainy - yet 1000's of Chinese and many helicoptors flying low overhead and many police/emergence service sirens wailing...

If your a stupid Korea to go protesting against China - in amongst all the Chinese - then serves yourself right for getting beaten up...
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=121172
I would have loved to step outside to do some photography - but just not worth the risk....
The Chinese were courageous today - standing up against the Koreans and the Korean police -
but maybe only because there were SO MANY CHINESE everywhere - they were out in number...
and they finally were able to be proud of themselves and hit a few Korean people in revenge (you all know how Koreans are always slagging off on foreigners - bad foreigner, dirty foreigner, go home foreigner)....
next time us Foreign English teachers get jacked over - if only we were able to assemble 10,000 Foreign English teachers together in one big demonstration - we would also be able to hit a few Koreans and get away with it...
so the only guy I feel sorry for is the North Korean defector - who tried to set himself on fire - to demonstrate against China sending North Koreans back to North korea...
but he failed - because the Korean police stopped him quickly...
If only he had succeeded - it would have sent a worthy message around the world to help North Korean defectors who are stuck in China...

Where do the Chinese communists learn to protest? Not in their own country, that's for sure. |

I went and watched the Olympic Torch arrive at City Hall today. I was there for about three hours waiting. The Chinese students were very well behaved and thrilled to see white people there watching the torch arrive. I also give the South Korean police a great deal of credit as well for professionalism. When the Chinese students got a bit too loud, the Korean police would calmly make a line and break up the group. I saw a few things on the media about violence but that was a very, very small minority. I have seen many protests in Korea and today was a picnic. |

You must have been on the wrong block.
The action was on another block. |

Unless there are some pictures out there of Chinese students flipping over the police buses or the police trampling someone to death, today went about as smooth as my commute to work each day on the subway. A little pushing is just the Asian way of getting to know one another. |

I was there and so were hundreds of foreigners having a good time. I don't think that these reports are a true reflection of events. About four people held up Tibetan flags outside the hotel but what really were they expecting? There just have been 6000 Chinese people there singing songs. Its like going to a nation of Islam meeting dressed up as klu klux klan member. the whole thing was over pretty quickly, actually in a matter of seconds. That was the only event in an otherwise enjoyable afternoon. |

He probably deserved it and it doesn't look like he is hurting him, just slapping him like a bitch. |

They need to stop this silly tradition. It just stirs up a bunch of trouble. Is this why DongDaegu station was insanely crowded today? |
