I think the thread refers to famous people.

Who is Richard Belter? I'm pretty sure that he isn't the only combatant soldier ever to have won two VCs.

I guess you have trouble understanding the concept of "fame".

Britney Spears hasn't done shit in terms of combat and winning Commonwealth awards, yet she is "famous". Your fellow is not.

Dr. David Suzuki. A nice enough fellow but there was a slight air of arrogance about him that was offputting.

Smeggin' hell--I imagine he'd be the same in real life as on the show, eh?

I've met quite a few but the only one who I'll post about is Bill Clinton, back when he was governor of Arkansas. Taller than you'd expect.

There would seem to be a not insignificant amount of arrogance in proclaiming yourself the arbiter of deciding who is famous and who is not. Upham is well-known where I come from and now he is just a little bit more famous since you have been forced to find out about him. Consider yourself lucky.

I'd heard of Upham, and I'm from the cold desolate Canadian prairie.

Nice collection although, for a second I thought you might be a stalker.

I've a good idea of your age too, especially as you mentioned Marilyn.

Very Happy

i would say most of the people on the above list are today, half dead.(we all know about rolf harris and his meth problem).

i expect marylin is still in some stupid bar in west london, talking crap today.
my home manor( london slang for "stomping ground" for people from manitoba or arizona ) is the manor of choice for appx 30 percent of the rich and famous in the world,i guess (their european base, anyhowz) from madonna to mick jagger...you cant even buy a newspaper on a sunday morning without tripping over one or two of the scum.

i sold rex grossman (chicago bears QB) a phone.

i sold dusty rhodes (the wrestler, not the singer) a beer.

in korea, i drank with yunie (sp?) the korean pop star that later killed herself.

heather locklear once made fun of me.

and, to beat out anybody else's, i met bob barker. that cannot be topped.

I had a beer with Meat Loaf once after a show, which was pretty cool. A very shy guy actually but pleasant anyhow.

The Trailer Park Boys. After talking with them for half an hour I asked their buddy what he was doing in town. Turned out to be the guitarist from Rush.

We all had a good laugh out of that.
