Check out this story, this guy plays gangsters in the Korean movies, but I guess he doesn't know when to turn off the acting. Ive seen him on TV, he always acts tough, Hells Angel motorcycle getups et al. Real tough guy beating up a 73 yr old man. It happened in Itawan.

Choi Min-soo Charged with Assault and Battery 2008-04-25

Actor Choi Min-soo, known for his masculine and charismatic personality, was charged with beating up a Mr. Yoo, a 73-year-old man, and driving 200 meters with the old man on the hood of his car.

Police report says that Choi and Yoo got into an altercation when the old man reprimanded Choi for cussing while he was stuck in traffic in the Itaewon area of Seoul. Choi apparently beat the old man with his fist several times and tried to get away when people recognized him. But Yoo got in front of the car to stop Choi from leaving the scene. Witnesses say that Choi just drove off for about 200 meters with Yoo hanging onto the hood before being stopped by the police called to the scene. Yoo also accused Choi of threatening him with a knife, but Choi has denied that part of the accusation.

After being booked without detention, Choi held a press conference late Thursday night to explain the incident and apologize for causing so much trouble. He also said that he has apologized to Yoo and reached a settlement. Choi appeared very remorseful and repentant, repeatedly saying that everything is his fault and he should not be forgiven. He added that hes disappointed at himself and is willing to receive any punishment that comes his way.

Choi recently won a role in the film Street of Dreams a joint collaboration of Korea, Japan and the U.S. The film stars Hollywood superstar Robert De Niro.

My Korean friends were calling him a sissy because he never finished his military service either. Shame on him for hitting an old man. Real tough indeed.

I think somebody needs the courage to say what everybody else on this board is afraid -- no, too p*ssy -- to say: beating up a 73 year old man is WRONG! Got that, people? No excuses. I'm not afraid to take the unpopular viewpoint

I have been told many times that all Koreans with the family name "Choi" are quick tempered, angry, bad tempered etc

Most of them I have met are...

But who knows if its in their genes...

or they just act this way because their name is "Choi" ? (giving them a lame excuse to always be angry, bad tempered, etc)

Choi is a heavy drinker who hasn't been in anything decent in years. He married a Canadian gyopo who won a Miss Korea contest in Canada. Rumors say he beats her because of his drinking, though you'd think they get along since they were in several TV commercials together.

Well, what if the other guy is 83? I think I've seen this very scenario a few times on the subway. Also, if the 73 year old man is trying to molest a young woman, I wouldn't have a problem with her socking him one. I may have seen that one on the subway too.

I guess I'm taking your stance but going even more liberal on this, and more violent. Of course people need to be civil because they are in a society. That is why we make laws stating that you can't just kick the crap out of people that make you angry. On the other hand, when little s*its hide behind these rules like it's a barrier to keep away a troll they are poking with a hot iron, I believe these rules should be temporarily lifted. By doing so, you allow these people to realize that they can and will, deservingly so, be beaten if they maintain their status of "douche bag with a big mouth." This goes for the old guy that tries to grope a girl. Said girl has full rights to beat said guy into a pulp, no matter how drunk or old they are.

I grew up the fat kid always getting in trouble because the teacher didn't think that antagonizing someone that was violent warranted the stupid kid with the verbal stick to be beaten... it was alright to pick a fight, just illegal to have it delivered... what a crock of s*it

Alright, I'll be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR about this. Beating a 73-year old man is WRONG unless he makes you angry for some reason or it's part of a funny joke. Then, beat away.
