I was thinking of buying a Panasonic Lumix DMC Fz7 from my one friend. I was wondering if anyone here could give me some additional feedback on the camera. The reviews I read online were pretty positive. I just wanted to check on here as well to see if someone else had some more info to offer.

Yes, it's a good camera. How much? |

This camera is famous for being sharp and snappy but having a lot of noise problems. If you never shoot anything but 100 speed, then get this camera. If you shoot a lot of low light, don't get it. Somewhere in between, weigh your options carefully.
Hope that helps. |

Seconded, apparently its great for taking sports shots with good video capturing capabilities. It looks like a mini DSLR though I always felt that if you get anything bigger than a Canon IXUS then might as well get a DSLR. |

Yeah, for pure picture taking capabilities there's a lot of truth to that. However, he might be one of the people (myself included) who loves a long zoom and doesn't have the money for a DSLR and a zoom lens. For us, cameras like this fill the niche quite well. |

You know, I don't want to rain on this guy's thread, but I've been looking at the Sanyo Xacti with a 4mp camera and fullHD video capabilities. If I were to get another digital it would be something like that and its tiny. A couple years back I did look at the Lumix before I got the IXUS (the BEST compact digital camera ever) and it was great back then except for the size. I already had my D50 so didn't want to lug around another biggy and I'm still using it out of all the cameras that I have. |
