Because our (part time) nanny brings critter to my office every day for a fresh lunch, and because my work-at-home hubby gets stir crazy and wants to meet me with the baby ANYWHERE but home when I'm finished work, I'm getting really good at nursing in public.
There are two places I've shopped online that have done WONDERS.
1. Glamormom nursing tanks. www.glamormom.com They're a tank top with a built in nursing bra. When you're nursing in public, it's less exposing to lift the shirt you're wearing, but it ends up exposing your postpartum (and possibly stretchmarky) belly. These tanks provide that coverage, and also kind of hold it all in. I bought them in three colours, as well as one of their long sleeve tops - it looks more like a bodysuit. It's great for wearing on weekends - totally highlights cleavage while being very functional.
I'm going to also buy one of their tank top dresses for summer - layering with a light cardigan for work, and another tank for a coworker who's due in June. Maybe a swimsuit, too. I figure, I'm going to have another kid and nursing lasts a year, so I should get the stuff with the first kid and get double-duty, eh?
Their shipping was super fast, and they don't show the price of the shipping on the outside of the package, so I guess if you keep it under 140$, Korean customs shouldn't bug you. I got it in 4 days, no customs problem.
2. I LOVE this site: www.maternalove.com It's a singaporean lady who designs the stuff. Shipping from there to Korea is a great deal. I bought three tops, one a fuschia print that turned out to be pretty garish in person (it's now my night shirt) and two "work tops", black and aqua. Within one week of delivery I've ordered again. They're cute, fit so comfortably, and since the lady is designing for singapore, they're perfect for a conservative, but sweltering environment. (She's really big into cap sleeves.)
Because, you know, just because you're a mom doesn't mean you shouldn't be sexy, eh? |

I'm almost six months pregnant now and I actually love being pregnant. I'm overweight but I lost 15 lbs in my first three months of pregnancy and only gained back eight of those lbs in months 4 and 5, so I haven't actually gained any weight yet! I had to order clothes from the states, and the stairs at work have been hard, but otherwise I feel really great! Is anyone on this forum interested in starting a La Leche League?
Also, do you know of any mommy groups/play groups around the Itaewon/Yongsan/Haebongcheon area? |
