Words can have multiple meanings and often depend on context. The definition of "apologist" is not simply someone who makes a defense of an argument but can also be used as a pejorative to take a cheap shot at someone who merely has a different opinion from you.

If I yell the "N" word in Flushing NY, which has many Chinese, I won't get attacked either.

Basically its like this.... On one hand you got a mighty whitey that has been here 10+ years..studied Korean for an ungodly amount of time, has a Korean wife, tries to think and do everything just like many of his "countrymen." and then there is the canadian guy who just touched down in Incheon 10 mins ago. To the Korean populace....these 2 guys are both the same. They're non-persons...they don't belong...and here it is...neither of them will ever be accepted here.

Yeah but I'd go with the guy who has a clue than the other who has no clue.

I dunno. Some long-termers provide a really good perspective but there are a few who've become the biggest sell-outs with the biggest denial complexes you could imagine.

OK I vote for world peace.

10 years is a short time and having a Korean wife does not make you Korean. Gyopos live in another country for decades in order to acculturate themselves, e.g. attend public schools. Also, Korean men marry Vietnamese women. Are Korean men Vietnamese? The idea is absurd. Everyone on this board is a foreigner in Korea and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yes, but in terms of this board a Korean apologist is someone who defends Korea to ana lmost irrational level. Their defence is entirely one sided and actually somewhat fanatic.
