Chris Webber.

(Did anybody REALLY think Jimmy King was a factor?).. Didn't think so...so it's okay to eliminate him and make it a fab 4.

In no particular order Kim, Choi, Lee and Park... Only joking.

I don't want to sound disrespectful to the OP but, with all due respect, its almost a for gone conclusion.

Although a lot of Fab Four experts might be inclined to argue that the so called 'fifth' Beatle George Martin could make a valid claim to that title as he engineered the change of direction during the Rubber Soul / Revolver period which eventually spurned Sgt Peppers and it was him that was responsible for just about keeping the Beatles together (in the studio) during their turbulent final years: and that took some talent indeed should you believe what you read.

I actually some of Paul's solo stuff like 'C'mon People' and those kind of tracks. But the 'Imagine' LP was superb.

I do however think that George's tracks with the four are somewhat underrated.

No worries, none taken.

There are no right/wrong answers here......................

.......though, many would agree that George was the unsung hero of the band.

Everyone says George because he was overlooked, but judging by length of career, impact and range, Paul stands alone.

I've listened to all of their solo stuff, and George's is the only stuff I listen to regularly. I occasionally dabble in John and Paul pieces, rarely in Ringo's stuff. I think Paul did so well as a soloist because he was perceived at the time to be the "best" Beatle. Of course, a lot of people think he's responsible for the breakup by being such an arrogant and controlling "member" of the group.

George is, always has been, and always will be my favorite Beatle.

John Paul Jones was probably the most talented....Page always stands out....the Les Paul and the violin bow... and the twin neck SG etc...but John Paul Jones was the anchor... bass... organ....3 necked accoustic instrument....

Oh you mean the Beatles! Who cares.....

Only one of them has made it big enough to be the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine. No contest really.

george. hands down.

paul was talented but his post-beatles output was so very annoying and shitty.

I think George's stuff holds up better, but when you get down to it, the Stones were and are a better band. However, the Beatles impact on haircuts has held up longer than their music. Ya gotta give 'em that.

Billy Preston

Actually, if you want to get into solo stuff, or work with other bands, I don't think anything anyone has done can even come close to comparing with Lennon's Plastic Ono Band record. That was the purging of the Beatles and was as good as any records they'd put out as a group prior. Except "Power to the People". Never could stand that song.
