Some lady at school told me it's some holiday tomorrow but I haven't found any online that are tomorrow. Is this right? She said it's like a Labor Day in Korea and a lot of stores will be closed.

Home plus is only closed 2 days of the year (Chuseok and lunar new year) and they have been known to open on the new year.

They will be open tomorrow.

so how is it exactly living in that world of yours where you are so incredibly isolated, protected and oblivious you aren't even aware May 1st is an international day of expression for the working class aka Unions?

sigh, so much information is distorted, censored and ignored. it's a pity, really.

anyway, here's a link:

Korea has unions, the teachers' union (I've heard) is the strongest. Retail outlets very very rarely have unions anywhere, so don't worry, am sure all will be open for your capitalistic indulgence Laughing

We are all doing the same thing so go *beep* yourself and the rest with their stupid smart ass comments. *beep* you, *beep* you, *beep* you.

Moosehead,
May 1st is Mayday. Its celebrated in communist countires as a workers day. Commies wrap a string around a maypole. The US has their Labor Day in September.

Mayday is not an official holiday in Korea. Hence its not highlighted in red on your calendar. Only some work places have it off. Actually in recent years it has been somewhat of a guerilla holiday in Korea considering South Korea's history of anti communism.
