Tried searching the web, some sources say around 10.30pm, others that they are 24 hour! Hmmmm. Anyhow I have friends arriving at 11pm and I am pretty sure they are stuffed buswise.

So, anyone have a clue? Or could guess at approx cost of a taxi (to Gangnam/Kyodae area)?

Thanks.

Val

I haven't taken a bus that late from the airport, but I would guess that if there are planes arriving, there will still be buses. Tell them to look for the airport bus counter and then ask the person there for a bus to the specific area in Gangnam.
I know they stop running after 8:30 to the airport from where I live, but I believe they still run from the airport as many crew live out here. I see stewardesses arriving in front of my building all the time.

A taxi to Gangnam would be prohibitively expensive.

If they end up having to stay, there is a place to sleep there on the lower floor. It is on the same level as the tunnel to the lower parking lots and several travel agent offices. A sauna with an area for sleeping. They give you a blanket and there are the usual showers and lockers. I think it it is about 10,000 Won. Perhaps a little less. Not ideal but cheap.

You could always call the airport itself and ask about the buses.

Be careful! Sometimes there are no seats left on the last bus...

According to the schedule posted at the airport, the last one leaves for Seoul around 11pm.

It depends where in Seoul they will be going, but the buses stop between 10:30 and 11:00pm. You can call 02-1330 from a cell phone or landline outside of the city or 1330 from a landline within the city. Its a free information hotline that is 24hours. They can tell you what the best option is for someone arriving after buses have stopped running.

I met a guy who works at the airport today while I was roller blading - an electrical engineer - and he gave me the website address.

It has all the bus info as well.

http://www.airport.kr/eng/airport/

Good to know.

Good luck.
