I'm graduating in a couple weeks but my school doesn't mail students their diplomas until the 3rd or 4th week of July. There is no way to expedite this. I think my transcripts will be done earlier but I don't know when.
When do you have to provide the recruiter or school with your diploma? I was told you only need the diploma for the visa application process, is that true?
I'm applying for a job that starts at the end of aug. will not having my diploma until the end of july be a problem? |

I think that the recruiter/school may want to have something that confirms that you have actually completed your degree ... Just to confirm that you will be eligible for the E2 visa before they spend too much time working with finding / giving you a job ... But you should have no trouble in getting a letter or something from your school confirming this after you have graduated ... You should actually also have no trouble in getting a transcript either ... Because transcripts can normally be requested at any time you are studying or after you have studied.
While you don't need to physically provide the diploma / or correctly verified copy before the visa application process ... they may want to start the process (to confirm that nothing will stop you getting the visa) before the end of July. (It is also one of the busies times so the Korean side of your visa application may take slightly longer than normal). You also need to make sure that you have your Criminal Record Check ready. You will need that for the visa process as well and depending on where you are located can take some time to be done ... Best to apply for it now so that you have it. (The recruiter / school will ask if you have it ) |
