| Does anyone else agree that The Office is starting to go downhill? Season 3 was great but I don't find it funny anymore this season. |

Season 3?
Everyone knows The Office only had two 6 episode seasons, plus the Christmas special.
I thought I once heard something about an American version, but I wasn't paying that close attention. |

I have never watched the U.S. version.
I thought the U.K. version was some of the worst humour to come out of those isles for a long time. I generally like their humour.

Maybe you don't get the cultural references. The Office UK is legendary comedy manna from the Gods.

This is the most super funny minute of comedy conversation in history. Wel that is my most honest opinion. |

I've never seen the American one although I've heard its good. I remember when the office was big at first I was working night shift at sainsburys and 'the Dance' was pretty popular. |

| I think the last 2 episodes were very weak. Outside of the gag where they had Michael calling "Wendy" for a date, I hardly laughed. But the dinner party episode was a classic! Don't write off the whole season yet. |

| While not as funny as the first 3 seasons, season 4 is still good. I liked the first post-strike episode - classic Andy. |

I've been enjoying them. I don't remember earlier in the season, but since they started up again I thought they've been solid.
The dinner party had unreal amounts of tension and was decent joke-wise. Tell me you didn't like the "I will take the fall" part...
The chair one was kind of mediocre, but made interesting by Jim's little revelation
In next episode you've gotta love the matter of fact, casual manner that Dwight delivers the "don't step on him" line with, and the unexpectedness of the Toby thing kinda got me. |

Tell them there's a Magic:TG tournament this weekend at the Yongsan base...
Wow, terrible and nerdy all at the same time. |

| i dunno, after the pommy version, the yank one is just terrible. i might've thought it were funnier if the british one never existed. the english one's funny, but the attraction there is more of the train crash kind. it's just so deliciously painful watching brent and gareth doing their thing. |

I think it's just a classic example of British vs American humor. I'm from the states, and I much prefer the US version. I can't connect with the characters in the UK one.
Sure, the posted clip is funny, but I think it would have been funnier to me if it would have been Jim and Dwight. I feel like Garreth/Dwight have all the great lines, but Dwight seems to liven them up a lot more.
Maybe it's just the British style of acting. I feel like all most of the lines are flat and unbelievable in it. But obvious brits don't feel that way, so I figure it must be a style preference. |

| I'm from the States, most of my favorite comedy has been American, and I think the British version is WAY funnier than the American version of The Office. No contest. Ricky Gervais is so brilliant as a writer and performer on that show... too bad he sold out after two only two seasons. |

That's the beauty of it. Keep it short and go out on a high. Don't run it into the ground. Fawlty towers (12 episodes) and The Young Ones (12 episodes). I'm sure that Matt Groening would have liked to have stopped a while ago with the Simpsons, but he'd created a monster. The later series of the Simpsons just don't have the appeal of the earlier ones. The later ones have a point to make.
Another excellent bit from the British one:
