I am not sure how far we can go in trying to make sure people are healthy, but society does pay for it, to some extent, if people are very unhealthy in terms of productivity, hospital bills etc...

Let's just outlaw enjoyment altogether. We'll all agree to live a bland, uninteresting, "healthy" lifestyle that negatively affects no one.

Oh, yeah, didn't the fascists fail.

Those who oppose bacon deserve neither freedom, nor security, in fact they deserve to be consumed. Preferably as fake-on.

Obviously, bacon shouldn't be outlawed because of its effect on health. One could argue about outlawing bacon for environmental/animal rights issues, but that's another debate entirely.

California is not banning bacon, just vending bacon in a hazardous way. The difference is between consentual health risks and unconsentual health risks. If I buy a bacon dog, I am willing to risk a heart attack, but am not willing to risk food poisoning.
